Saruka Shrine

clip_image003_0002.jpg  It is told the Saruka shrine was built when Sakanoue-Tamuramaro came up to northern Japan to conquerthe Ezo people who lived this region originally.
Tsugaru Tamenobu , the founder of Tsugaru-Han domain, decided this shrine as place to pray. People believe it as a god of agriculture, fishery, traffic, eyes and so on.
There are many festivals and events at this shrine. The northern limit lotus fill up the pond with its pale pink flowers in July to August.
